EV charging in Denmark

A practical guide to your first EV trip in Denmark: which local network apps to install, which pan-European operators work in the country and which roaming app to keep as a backup.

For your first trip

What to install before the border

A ready-made minimum set for Denmark, so you do not have to work out on your own what works here.

01 Local apps

Clever, OK, Spirii . These are the first operators worth having for direct tariffs and starting a session.

02 Backup roaming

Plugsurfing, ChargemaporOctopus Electroverse. Keeping one of them as a backup is enough for chargers of different networks.

03 Fast charging on the highway

Operating in Denmark: Tesla Supercharger, IONITY, Allego, Shell Recharge, E.ON Drive / EDRI, Fastned . For long trips, rely first on their DC/HPC hubs and the local fast-charging networks below.

Roaming and aggregators

In practice

What to check on the road

That matters more than how many apps you install.

01

Install at least one local operator app before crossing the border.

02

Keep one roaming/aggregator app as a backup, but compare its price with the CPO’s direct tariff.

03

For long-distance routes, choose hubs with several DC ports rather than a single station.

04

Before starting a session, check the power, connector, live status, tariff and any idle/parking fee.
