EV charging in Albania

Albania’s infrastructure already makes EV travel possible, but a backup matters more than in Western Europe. iCharge is the first local app worth setting up.

For your first trip

What to install before the border

A ready-made minimum set for Albania, so you do not have to work out on your own what works here.

01 Local apps

iCharge . These are the first operators worth having for direct tariffs and starting a session.

02 Backup roaming

Plugsurfing, ChargemaporOctopus Electroverse. Keeping one of them as a backup is enough for chargers of different networks.

03 Fast charging on the highway

In Albania, fast charging is mainly provided by local operators: iCharge . Plan your route through their DC/HPC locations and keep one backup station in mind.

Pan-European operators

Networks that operate in several countries at once and can simplify a cross-border route.

This country has no sufficiently confirmed direct footprint of the large pan-European CPOs on our list. Rely on local networks and roaming.

No “where it helps” column: just the operator, how to start and the one thing to watch.

Not a CPO

Roaming and aggregators

These services help you find or start charging with different operators. They do not mean the physical station belongs to the aggregator itself.

What to check on the road

That matters more than how many apps you install.

01

Install at least one local operator app before crossing the border.

02

Keep one roaming/aggregator app as a backup, but compare its price with the CPO’s direct tariff.

03

For long-distance routes, choose hubs with several DC ports rather than a single station.

04

Before starting a session, check the power, connector, live status, tariff and any idle/parking fee.
